Absolutely! Observer can communicate with Active Directory using the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) protocol. Simply configure the Active Directory settings through the control panel. This will allow you to access Observer directly using your domain account. Thanks to this feature, license usage data can be easily linked to workgroups defined directly in AD.
You do not need to install anything. Observer monitors software directly from the server on which it is installed. However, you can install specific agents on individual servers if you need to retrieve information that is available only on those specific machines (such as log files, option files, and license files).
